Benvenuti amici or Welcome friends to Pocorello's Italian Grocery and Deli - a taste of Italy right here in Baton Rouge. Owned and opporated by the Pocorello family since 1985. Pocorello's combines the tradition of New York City's Little Italy District with the atmosphere of the old italian grocery and delis of New Orlenas. Pocorello's is the place in Baton Rouge for imported and domestic italian groceries, meats, cheeses, and other specialties. With items such as pastas, olive oils, antipastas, olives, stuffed, artichokes, and wines, Pocorello's offers not only the largest selection in Baton Rouge, but also the most knowledgable staff. In addition to the large grocery and deli selections, Pocorello's offers a full menu for take out or dining in. Menu items are made fresh daily and include pasta dishes, po-boys, sandwiches and muffuletts. Pocorello's famous homemade tomato sauce, meatballs, and italian sausage are considered a South Baton Rouge favorite. It is not unusual for the deli to run out of tamato sauce due to regulars buying the sauce by the quart for take out. But don't be afraid, the kitchen always keeps enough for the menu orders.

Another favorite is the muffuletta, considered the best outside of New Orleans by most and the best anywhere to many. The secret is in the olive salad - Pocorello's makes their own.
